Car woes

Ok, so I drove up to my folks on the 24th. After I  hit the road, I discovered that my windshield washers had stopped working. I could hear the  motor just fine, but both the front and rear were a no-go. So I had to spend the rest of the 160 mile drive trying to get cars to pass me so that they would splash liquid on my window and I could use the wipers.  Combine that with the crappy condition of the roads. The stretch of 39 from the Knowlton exit to almost Wausau was horrible. I think the plow just abandoned all hope. We were only able to go about 25-30 mph for that stretch.  I had such a headache from straining to see thru the crap on my windows, concentrating on not going into the ditch, and not having had any coffee that morning. Lord. I wish I could have just curled up in a ball when I got to my folk’s house, but that wasn’t happening.  I had to take along my blow-up bed (the shopko version of the aero-bed) since we would all be stuffed in the house. Glen and Evelyn brought the dog, and Tegan and Tyler drove up separately. Lori and her bf Chad came over later.  There were so many presents under the tree!  Sadly, there were very few for me. I gotta stop trying to find cool stuff for my family. No-one appreciates it, and I outspend them like crazy.  8(  I got car parts, a walmart gift card, a tiny plastic cat from fleet farm and a stuffed Bumble. Oh, and a darning egg, and some thermometers so I can figure out how warm it is in my house.  Next year, its a calendar and a gift card for everyone. No more shopping all year long, looking for the perfect gift. I was so cold!  There is some sort of nasty draft all thru their house, and every time I go up they get pissed at me because I stay all bundled up. Gah!!!Enough grousing. Xmas is over, and I survived.
