Ok, Madison was supposed to get pounded with snow last night and this morning. We got a dusting. Apparently the storm stopped over my bro’s house in Sparta, as its still snowing there, and 16 inches is expected. My folks didn’t start getting snow until this morning, and they say the roads up there are impassable right now (my Dad went into Wittenberg for the papers already, and saw 4 cars in the ditch in a 4 mile stretch of highway 29). I’ll be leaving here tomorrow morning early instead, which is depressing cause right now it’s sunny and clear here. Not telling what it will be like in the morning. Oh well, it will let my folks rest easy. When I think of all the blizzards my Dad drove us thru as kids, it’s hard to imagine that I couldn’t make it the 160 miles without incident. I am my father’s daughter, after all! The car is gassed up, the oil is fresh, the tires were new this summer. Baby, I am good to go! On the up side, my nephew Tyler (Bub, to family) made it home safely to Sparta. He drove nonstop from North Carolina yesterday and got in about 1 this morning. Whew! Tegan flew in from Camp Pendleton on friday night, so my bro drove up to Minneapolis to pick her up in the massive fog that blanketed the area. Ick.
I went to Milwaukee a few weeks ago for the Art vs Craft show at the Mason Hall downtown. Met up with Lori, saw some wickedly overpriced craft, and had a massive lunch. Oh, and Milwaukee installed some of those wacky parking meter thingies where you go to a remote terminal, enter your spot number, pay for a specified time, then run back to your car to put the sticker in the window. I hate these systems!!! Can’t they just get a readout of which spots are expired, without me having to run back to the car? I s’pose it could be worse. And they weren’t working the day we were there, so… SCORE!
S’no travel??
